| Description | Molecular Weight: 681.31 Salt Form: Acetate Purity: >96% Sequence (3-letter): Boc-Val-Pro-Arg-AFC Sequence (1-letter): Boc-VPR-AFC Storage: -20 °C or below Boc-Val-Pro-Arg-AMC is a fluorogenic substrate for alpha-thrombin (Km = 21 μM, k<sub>cat</sub> = 109 s<sup>-1</sup>) and the thrombin-staphylocoagulase complex (Km = 25 μM, k<sub>cat</sub> = 89 s<sup>-1</sup>). The substrate is also cleaved by trypsin, tryptase from rat mast cells, Kex2 endoprotease, and acrosin and spermosin (trypsin-like enzymes from sperm of the ascidian Halocynthia roretzi). Activity is quantified by release of free fluorescent 7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (AMC) which excites at 360-380 nm and emits at 440-460 nm. |
