Three new Indian variants Spike pseudoviruses by BPS Biosciences
To support the research of this novel coronavirus, we Biotechno labs join hand with BPS Biosciences as it is always on the cutting edge of creating new research tools to study COVID-19 and has developed an expansive portfolio with the latest proteins, assay kits, cell lines, lentiviruses, and screening tools. These products accelerate COVID-19 research through identifying neutralizing antibodies of the Spike-ACE2 interaction, conducting small molecule screening of enzymes involved in viral entry and propagation, and the qualitative detection of human IgG antibodies in serum.
We are excited to announce the recently launched three new Indian variants Spike pseudoviruses by BPS Biosciences. The pseudoviruses can be used to study inhibition of both Spike: ACE2 binding and viral entry in a cellular context, using either our ACE2 or TMPRSS2-overexpressing cell lines. Many of these variants have greater resistance to convalescent serum and neutralizing antibodies, so it’s especially important to study these variants for the development of new therapeutics and detection assays.
The pseudo-virus-based infection assay services allow for rapid screening of antibodies and entry inhibitors as well as evaluating compounds for neutralization potential against the highly pathogenic SARS-CoV-2. The Spike (B.1.617 Variant, B.1.617.1 Variant, B.1.618 Variant) were produced with their respective SARS-CoV2 variant spike as the envelope glycoproteins instead of the commonly used VSV-G.
