Cell-APOPercentage™ Apoptosis Assay
For assessing the percentage of cells undergoing apoptosis, Biotechno Labs has joined hands with Biocolor. Biocolor distributes life science assays to universities and medical research institutes around the world. Their assays use dyes that bind to natural polymers such as complex carbohydrates, peptides, and proteins. The process usually requires isolation of the target molecule or selectively altering the dye-binding reaction conditions. Biocolor has produced a range of novel assays for microgram detection and measurement levels.
The Cell-APOPercentage™ Apoptosis Assay is a detection and measurement system that allows the user to monitor the incidence of apoptosis (programmed cell death) in mammalian, anchorage-dependent cells during in vitro culture. The assay uses a dye that is selectively imported by cells undergoing apoptosis. Necrotic cells cannot retain the dye and therefore are not stained. The dye that accumulates in 30 minutes within labeled cells is released into solution. The concentration of released, intracellular dye is measured using a microplate colorimeter.
