Customised Antibodies

An antibody (Ab), commonly referred to as immunoglobulin (Ig), is a large, Y-shaped protein produced via plasma cells that is mainly used by the immune system to neutralise pathogens like pathogenic bacteria and viruses.

Custom antibody production is an extremely useful tool when it is necessary to develop an antibody against a rare or unique antigen. When an antibody is required against a specific antigen type, but it isn’t readily available from a supplier, it is possible to have antibodies made via custom antibody production. A 90% purified sample of antigen is all that is needed for custom antibody generation and harvesting against that particular antigen. It is also feasible to have specific peptides or proteins produced and antibodies made against them if an antigen sample is not readily available. Custom antibody production protocols can be used to develop both monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies.
