T-2 Toxin Detection Kit

T-2 toxin also known as Mycotoxin are frequently detected in oats, maize, wheat and barley. The T-2 and HT-2 toxins are found in food and animal feed because of grains and have an impact on farm animals and pets due to the consumption of contaminated feed. The toxin is resilient and can survive temperatures of 100-120C for one hour while being stored at room temperature for 6-7 years. T-2 is toxic to the digestive system, immune system and reproductive system of humans and animals and exerts teratogenicity and carcinogenicity. Chronic consumption of food contaminated with T-2 toxin can lead to death, so simple and accurate detection methods in food and feed are necessary. World Health Organization (WHO) consider T-2 toxin the most dangerous food contaminant and recommend that T-2 contents in cereal crops such as flour and rice not exceed 90 μg/kg.
