| Scientific Background | Adiponectin, also known as Acrp30, is an adipocyte-derived protein with wide ranging paracrine and endocrine effects on metabolism and inflammation.Important adipokine involved in the control of fat metabolism and insulin sensitivity, with direct anti-diabetic, anti-atherogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Stimulates AMPK phosphorylation and activation in the liver and the skeletal muscle, enhancing glucose utilization and fatty-acid combustion. Antagonizes TNF-alpha by negatively regulating its expression in various tissues such as liver and macrophages, and also by counteracting its effects. |
| Molecular Mass | The protein has a predicted MW of 25.6 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 30-40 kDa based on Bis-Tris PAGE result. |
| Sl Sequence | Glu19-Asn244 |
| Solubility | Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to resuspend at 0.5 mg/mL if the lyophilized powder is 100 μg or less, at 1mg/ml for 500μg or 1mg lyophilized powder. Do not mix by vortex or vigorous shaking. |
| Appearance | Lyophilized |
| Endotoxin Levels | Less than 1 EU per μg by the LAL method. |
| Expression System | HEK293 |
| Gene Id | Q15848 |
| Amino Acid Sequence | Recombinant Human Adiponectin/Acrp30 Protein is expressed from HEK293 with His tag at the C-Terminus.It contains Glu19-Asn244. |
| Storage | -20 to -80°C for 12 months as supplied from date of receipt.;-80°C for 3 months after reconstitution.;Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles. |
