| Scientific Background | FSH (Follicle-stimulating hormone) is a gonadotropin, a glycoprotein polypeptide hormone. It has a functionally indispensable 96 amino acid α subunit that is common to LH, TSH and hCG, in addition to a structurally unique β subunit. FSH is synthesized and secreted by the gonadotropic cells of the anterior pituitary gland and regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. |
| Molecular Mass | The protein has a predicted MW of 10.20 kDa (FSH alpha) and 39.2 kDa (FSH beta). Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 25-30 kDa (FSH alpha) and 50-60 kDa (FSH beta) based on Bis-Tris PAGE result. |
| Sl Sequence | Ala25-Ser116 (FSH alpha) & Asn19-Glu129 (FSH beta) |
| Solubility | Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to resuspend at 0.5 mg/mL if the lyophilized powder is 100 μg or less, at 1mg/ml for 500μg or 1mg lyophilized powder. Do not mix by vortex or vigorous shaking. |
| Appearance | Lyophilized |
| Endotoxin Levels | Less than 1 EU per μg by the LAL method. |
| Expression System | HEK293 |
| Gene Id | P01215(FSH alpha)&P01225(FSH beta) |
