| Scientific Background | The pancreatic hormone glucagon activates the glucagon receptor (GCGR), a class B seven-transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor that couples to the stimulatory heterotrimeric G protein and provokes PKA-dependent signaling cascades vital to hepatic glucose metabolism and islet insulin secretion. The GCGR expressed at the plasma membrane is constitutively ubiquitinated and upon agonist-activation, internalized GCGRs are deubiquitinated at early endosomes and recycled via Rab4-containing vesicles. |
| Molecular Mass | The protein has a predicted MW of 39.00 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 55-70 kDa based on Bis-Tris PAGE result. |
| Sl Sequence | Ala26-Lys136 |
| Solubility | Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to resuspend at 0.5 mg/mL if the lyophilized powder is 100 μg or less, at 1mg/ml for 500μg or 1mg lyophilized powder. Do not mix by vortex or vigorous shaking. |
| Appearance | Lyophilized |
| Endotoxin Levels | Less than 1 EU per μg by the LAL method. |
| Expression System | HEK293 |
| Gene Id | P47871 |
| Amino Acid Sequence | Recombinant Human GCGR/Glucagon receptor Protein is expressed from HEK293 with hFc (IgG1) tag at the C-terminus.It contains Ala26-Lys136. |
| Storage | -20 to -80°C for 12 months as supplied from date of receipt.; -80°C for 3 months after reconstitution.; Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles. |
