| Scientific Background | The multifunctional factor interleukin 6 (IL-6) exerts its activities through binding to a high-affinity receptor complex consisting of two membrane glycoproteins: an 80 kDa component receptor that binds IL-6 with low affinity (IL-6R alpha) and a signal-transducing component of 130 kDa (gp130) that does not bind IL-6 by itself, but is required for high-affinity binding of IL-6 by the complex. Both components of the receptor complex, IL-6R alpha and gp130 have been cloned, sequenced, and expressed. |
| Molecular Mass | The protein has a predicted MW of 39.21 kDa. Due to glycosylation, the protein migrates to 60-70 kDa based on Bis-Tris PAGE result. |
| Sl Sequence | Leu20-Pro364 |
| Solubility | Dissolve the lyophilized protein in distilled water. It is recommended to resuspend at 0.5 mg/mL if the lyophilized powder is 100 μg or less, at 1mg/ml for 500μg or 1mg lyophilized powder. Do not mix by vortex or vigorous shaking. |
| Appearance | Lyophilized |
| Endotoxin Levels | Less than 1 EU per μg by the LAL method. |
| Expression System | HEK293 |
| Gene Id | P22272 |
| Amino Acid Sequence | Recombinant Mouse IL-6 R alpha/CD126 Protein is expressed from HEK293 with His tag at the C-terminus.It contains Leu20-Pro364. |
| Storage | -20 to -80°C for 12 months as supplied from date of receipt.;-80°C for 3 months after reconstitution.;Recommend to aliquot the protein into smaller quantities for optimal storage. Please minimize freeze-thaw cycles. |
