| Scientific Background | Kallikrein-related peptidase 12 (KLK12, a member of the kallikrein-related peptidase family ranging from KLK1 to KLK15) is a secreted serine protease with trypsin-like activity. KLK12 is expressed in a large number of human organs and tissues, such as bone, bone marrow, the colon, the lung, the trachea, the prostate, the salivary glands, and the stomach. Expression of KLK12 is dysregulated in several diseases, including breast, gastric and lung cancers. |
