SHLP2 is one of six small humanin-like peptides (SHLP1 to 6) encoded by the 16S rRNA gene of the mitochondrial DNA genome, which is implicated in several biological processes such as aging and oxidative stress. SHLP2 induces β-Arrestin recruitment to CXCR7 with an EC50 of 0.9696 µM, and also binds directly to CXCR7, causing its internalization without affecting CXCR4.
NP1 was identified from a 60 amino acid residue precursor encoded by a 297-bp cDNA sequence from the skin of the amphibian frog Rana limnocharis. NP1 suppresses inflammation by reducing interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels, and also up-regulates expression of miR-6328, which in turn down regulates kappa B kinase β (IKKβ). IKKβ reduces phosphorylation of nuclear factor-kappa B p65 (NF- κB p65) and inhibits NF-κB (I-κB), inhibiting activation of the NF-κB pathway.
T2857W is a kinase-inducible domain interacting (KIX) inhibitor designed from a peptide fragment corresponding to the transactivation domain (TAD) of the transcriptional activator, mixed-lineage leukemia protein (MLL). The KIX domain is an integral part of the general transcriptional coactivator CREB binding protein, and has been associated with leukemia, cancer, and various viral diseases.
