Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) ELISA Kit
Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) is a direct biomarker of alcohol ingestion that forms in the blood only when ethanol has been consumed. It is specific and can report previous alcohol consumption beginning a few hours after a drinking event and continuing for 2-3 weeks later. Sensitive detection by mass spectrometry using whole blood or dried blood spot (DBS) cards is becoming generally accepted as the gold standard for detecting past alcohol consumption.
BTL Biotechno Labs Pvt. Ltd., an authorized channel partner for Echelon Bioscience in India, is pleased to share that Echelon Bioscience has successfully developed an exclusive immunoassay designed to semi-quantitatively measure PEth levels. This innovative solution complements and serves as a preliminary screening tool for LC/MS analysis.
Key advantages of this immunoassay:
Recognizes multiple Peth species with sensitivity of < 30 ng/ml.
Can reproducibly distinguish heavy and moderate alcohol consumption from light drinking and abstinence.
Is economical; up to 80 samples can be analyzed per 96-well kit.
